Depending on the accessibility of the injectors, fitting an ethanol box is more or less straightforward. In half the cases, you'll need to call in a mechanic to fit the box. If you can't do it yourself, fitting an ethanol box (without changing your vehicle registration document) will cost you around €70. That's why our kits are not overpriced: we leave our customers a financial margin so that they can fit an ethanol box to their SMART at the garage of their choice.

Our ethanol box is compatible with old and new generation manual and automatic gearboxes, including DSG, Stronic, Tiptronic, Multitronic, DCT, BMP, ETG. The STOP & START system, catalytic converter and particulate filter are managed by the original ECU; the E85 ethanol box does not interfere with these functions.
